Well, as one of “those” people who both owns a business and has tasks delegated to him, I have to say I much more enjoy doing it myself, even if that means lower revenue. MNP Hoppal has gotten to the point where we could hire somebody to do the web design/marketing/other work for us and simply find clients, but really, if you want it done right, you’ve got to do it yourself, right?

Great post, so true and I have been doing all the work so far and will be looking to outsource some things in the near future so I can concentrate on other aspects of my business.

Great post. My online business just took off in 2006 but because I tried to handle everything in house it definitely affected any opportunity for my company to really grow. Now I just have to figure what I need to outsource. Gotta spend money to make money right?

I couldn’t agree more. Some people try to do it all themselves, but seeking help is the best solution for any business builder. I like to compare to Donald Trump. He is a very intelligent man but he made his millions and millions by getting people to assist him. He wouldn’t hire just anyone but he is looking fo professionals. Same scenerio.

if all these important business activities are outsourced, what is left to do in-house? Outsourcing is actually a good idea, you can also throw some lights on what one should not outsource or probably what is not recommended to outsource?

I know I’m guilty of trying to do everything myself. I agree to outsource your posting only to niche type sites plus the design and such for themes. You can also outsource your admin type activities and tax structuring for your business. The pitfalls would be not having direct control. Just be careful, plan and safe gaurd your dealings. Things like confidentiality, some people might drop the project or the delivery might be delayed… Just some thoughts..

Fields Marshall – thats great that you’re going to be doing more outsourcing. Just make sure you have a plan so that they outsourcing ends up making you money rather than costing you money

I haven’t done ANYTHING with foreign language websites, ever. I would imagine that there is good money to be made though because of decreased competition. Your best best for monetizing such sites will probably be to create and sell your own products… I don’t know how many advertisers there are for non-English websites.
