I think the way to real success is to build your own products, and about something you're passionate about. I certainly agree with not worrying about giving your most valuable information away for free. There is so much free information out there that people expect to find something of value immediately when they land on your website, and they will be reluctant to swap their contact details for another freebie until they trust you. At the end of the day, people are not looking for information, they are looking to solve a problem. It is not the information that they will pay for, but a believable strategy that will help them to achieve their goals. THAT is what people pay for... to have a trusted "uncle/auntie" figure that they can follow so that they no longer have to read all that free information that is out there that is causing them to chase their tail.
