Excellent post. I am focusing on outsourcing more of my websites to generate a passive ROI.

I like to implement the following steps when managing a web property:

1. Fill site with content.

2. Build up traffic.

3. Retain earnings for a few months.

4. Reinvest in content, then rinse and repeat.

Then watch your savings balance swell!

Samuel – those are some good suggestions for finding additional writers.

Self Improvement – I certainly agree with you that great content is not easy to create. It is expensive and/or time consuming. However, content does not have to be great to be quality. Good quality content can still be informative and helpful to readers without passing the “greatness” threshold.

I have to disagree with 5 – content is easy to create. Maybe content is easy to create, but great content is really hard to create. Plus any writer with brains will want to keep their best content on their own site or charge a lot.

Otherwise I agree. Content is basically everything.

I’m so glad that you’re preaching the “gospel of high quality content”.

For those timeless blog posts, we can put them into our autoresponder email sequence to keep getting subscribers back to our blogs.

Other than elance, guru, rentacoder, you can try posting an ad on craigslist, I’ve not use that before but it’s worth a try.

Usually I hire free lance writers from webmaster forums, such as Digital Point, Wicked Fire, Warrior, etc.

Quality content is king, no doubt about it! Something that goes with that is to ping everything in the known universe after you write that content. I wrote an aritcle about common investments. I didn’t promote it any differently than I do my other posts (Netscape and blog-buzz). A couple of days later I was linked by the Wall Street Journal Online!
